Reading: The Fifty Shades Trilogy by EL James – I have joined the masses, reading what has been labeled as “Mummy Porn” .

Having just finished the first one = 50 Shades of Grey – It definitely draws you in and makes you want to get started on the second one. I won’t give away any story line today –but has anyone else read it?

Watching: Currently loving my trashy reality shows (don’t judge me) and am loving Guliana and Bill – Oh so happy they just confirmed a pregnancy thru surrogacy, I also enjoy the NCIS shows along with Criminal minds and must also admit – loving me some Glee at the moment.

Working on: I am still working on my will power with food! – Oh the battles we have and I am currently loosing most of the battles!

Thinking About: All the craft projects I have on the go – I must sort out my priorities!

Anticipating: - Parent/Teacher interviews in two weeks for Courtney – I hope she is doing well.

Listening to: Bruno Mars – I love the variety on his album!

Eating: Yummy Tuna salads for lunch – but will need to start thinking about something a bit warmer for when winter hits!

Wishing: I was going to the Waikato Ceroc Champs in Two weeks but alas no dance partner so no dancing for me!

Weigh In...............

Last Week 110.9
This Week : 110.0
Lost: .900 - WOO HOO!!!!
Total lost Now 8.3kg!

Recap of the week:

I felt the week went a lot better than previous weeks, I am feeling back in control and have managed to walk three of the four planned days - Hurting my ankle of Thursday night while playing squash did not help.

Food wise - a lot better choices but I do need to try and show more control in the weekend when I am at home or at our local sports club.
With a day down next week and us heading to Hamilton on ANZAC day to visit my sick uncle I need to be careful with my food choices. Hoping that my ankle is feeling better on Monday morning so that I can walk to work!

The Joy of Less...........

I am in the process of reducing/decluttering things from my life, including possessions and weight!

The book that has helped me the most with the possessions is "The Joy of Less"

This book has really helped me with reducing the items that we accumulated when my parents passed away, the emotional attachment to things is so great that we tend to hold onto to items that we personally don't really want in our life's but feel compelled to hold onto because it was our parents.

The same thing goes for items that we are given as gifts that we may not particularly like but keep and maybe even display in case they turn up.

She talks you thru from starting over to everyday maintenance and everything inbetween.  They system is called STREAMLINE and each letter represents a process you do to help with the items deciding if they stay or go from your home.

She then helps you work thru each room and how to organise that room to its full potential.

I have managed to declutter over 100 items from our house so far and it hasn't even made a dent in our possessions, mainly due to me flitting from room to room.  But as proven by the book I need to knuckle down and do each room completely before starting on the next! Slowly and surely I will get there - The craft/office/storage room is first!

If anyone is thinking of decluttering I can definitely recommend this book

Just for Me..................

Asics Ayami Jensei

Well ain't these the prettest thing ya ever did see!

After feeling very tired and sore walking yesterday I decided that new sneakers were needed.

I have had my current ones for nearly 18 months and I was starting to feel every stone I stood on - not good!

So this morning after my weigh in which was 110.9kg - up .400 (love how I have hidden it in this post due to the slight gain!) I decided I needed some new walking shoes stat!

I jumped onto the computer and checked out Rebel Sports and Stirling Sports and saw those beauties above!

We headed off to Rebel Sports in Manukau and they fit perfectly. I even walked around for a while in them in the store and decided why not!

So I am about to take them on there first outing - eek - hope they are ok!

Things I Love...............

sun rays & storm clouds: golden sun rays spreading from behind dark storm clouds

I am feeling under the weather at the moment and wasn't going to post this but thought I need to keep pushing thru and things will get better just like the image I have used today of the sun light pushing thru the storm clouds!

So what am I loving at the moment:

playing squash, scrapbooking again, lots of great blog reading on decluttering and debt reduction, cheesecake shop cake, cuddles with son, love and support from my wonderful family, arrangements to visit sick relatives, time with Nana..........

Resetting Goals and Rewards

I have been struggling the last couple of weeks with my weight loss journey. I guess you get that when you loose focus and let life get in the way too much!
I realised that my initial goal was to loose for the trip to Wellington, of which I did. I lost 9kg, and for that I am proud.

What I am not proud about is how I then let myself go so to speak! I lost my focus, allowed bad habits to creap in! Ate easter eggs (big down fall!), stopped walking to work and stopped achieving things at home which lead me to being bored which leads to eating!!!

So I sat myself down and had a chat! And guess what - we both don't want to put the weight back on - we both want to continue loosing weight and along with another wake up call from my recent blood test that showed my blood sugar was a bit high (sitting on 5 I think) and then being handed the diabetic literature!

I guess it freaked me out a bit - and not in a good way (binged!) BUT that is going to change.

I have to redo my bloods in three months which is in June - lets make it the end!

So my goal for that blood test is to be weighing under 100kg!

Which makes 12 Saturday weigh ins (from when I sat and worked out my plan!)

My weight on that day was 111.7kg!

Today is the first weigh in with a weight of 110.5kg which gives me a 1.2kg loss  - yah! So that leaves me 10.6 to loose in 11 more weigh in  days!

How will I achieve this:

 - Begin walking to work again 4 days a week
 - Playing squash at least twice a week
 - Incorporate some other form of excercise into the weekend
 - Control my food choices.
 - Remind myself why I want this!

My rewards will be:
A Facial!

A day off from work to go to the movies
With a small icecream and popcorn!

There will also be some mini rewards along the way to keep me motivated but I haven't finalised them yet - finances dependent!

But watch this space for updates!
