Inspired by Craig Harpers Recent Post Friendship Criteria I was inspired to have a think about my "friends" and how they fit into my life.

Over the last year to 18 months I have noticed a drop in friends/accquaintances and how we have all moved on from each other and are no longer needed in our current life. Our time together has finished but not forgotten.

Though that still leaves me with lots of acquaintances from the different aspects of my life:

The Soccer Club Group - These are other parents from our childrens teams, those that play soccer with my husband and there wifes, those that we only see in soccer season. - These also include a lot of my husbands friends, including a lot of his childhood friends who we somehow don't seem to see over the summer sunny months (must have enough of each other over winter HA)

The Squash Club Group - These are new to my circle, although a couple are crossed over from the soccer club people

The Childs Friends Group - These are more the parents of there friends who I see randomly when drop offs and pick ups with the kids but would stop and talk to if I saw them up town.

The My Parents Friends Group - These are friends of my parents that I see around town - also in this category are my auntys friends.

The Work Place Group -  Self explanatory - do not socialise with them outside of work related events.

The Dancing Group - There are two sets with this group - those that I only see at Dance class and Dance Parties. Then there are those that I choose to socialise with at Dance Parties and other dance related events, we have an interest in common that draws us to each other and enjoy each others companies - always a great time when hanging out with these people!

The above groups are friends but would not be the first people I would think of if I needed a shoulder to cry on or need to have a good whinge about life with!

That would be:

Angela - I regard her as my BFF - we have been friends for nearly 20 years and share most things with each other, I enjoy her company and we share a love of scrapbooking, amongst other things. She has been there with both my parents passing but does not know the family and its dynamics as well as the next two. But there is something to the friendship that makes it just that bit more special.

Stacey and Megan - These two I have know for the longest, (probably getting closer to 25 years) in fact Megan use to date my brother many many years ago and Stacey and her ex husband where my brothers best friends way back when! - These two know me and my family and all that goes in between.  They have been there for me when both my parents passed away and for that I am truly grateful to have them in my life. - While we are not constantly in each others lives and only cath up every three months - I know that I can call them at any time and they would stop what they are doing and be by my side as soon as I needed them to be!

At times I feel sad that I do not have more closer friends but the three true friends I do have I cherish dearly and they help make my life rich along with the others sprinkled through.
