Well the scales this morning at 6am showed a .100 gram gain.
I am ok with this as I have a few days to get it moving but one thing that is hindering me is my tummy!
From the food eaten on Sunday and the day off on Monday because of it - I have felt tender and blocked for a few days now so was glad it showed only .100grams as it feels like a kilo!
I need to get my bowels moving!!!!!!!
Any suggetions!!!
Prune juice?????
A very good lesson learnt here with changing your eating - you can not go back to eating sweet, high point/calorie food like before - the body does not like it!!!!
Dance class last night went well - and ended with a late night again - once I have finished helping out on the door I will be able to leave earlier again!
We start fridays this week as well - so I am hoping to go along to Friday nights at least every fortnight - as paying for twice a week is not in the budget yet!
So onwards with the day - sushi for lunch - yum!!! since it is car day today - and lucky for me that it is as it is raining again!!!

Day 65/62 Back to the old Grind Stone
I am back at work today and feeling better - I even walked to work this morning to help get the old tummy back in line!
So far so good
Started the day with porridge which was yummy and I have some fruit to snack on along with a yummy tuna salad for lunch.
I did forget my cheese which is unusual for me as I love my cheese.
It still tasted yummy and hey I have 2 points to use somewhere else now.
I had to change up my Wendie plan this week and used Sunday as my high point day instead of today - I have only had to change the two so today becomes a minus 2 point day - so no subway cookie for me :(
It will be interesting to see how the weigh in goes this week with this change and the food consumed on Sunday being so rich and sweet.
But with lots of water and good food choices I am really hopping for a loss of some sorts - and will even be happy with a stay the same!
Fingers crossed.
As I write this it has started to rain -argh - please stop before I go home in just under 3 hours!

Day 66/61 Home Sick
I am home today with my daughter as we both have a very upset tummies - must have been something we have eaten at the baby shower as we did not eat the same at the soccer tournament.
So back to bed and lying on the couch for us today :(

Day 67/60 Soccer Fun
Today was spent with my son at a soccer tournament from 8.30- 2.30 when I had to leave to go to my cousings baby shower.
The soccer torunament went well and the boys did a great job.
Sadly no medals this time but they all enjoyed themselves.
The baby shower was fun and I ate something that hasn't agreed with me
So a very quiet night followed by early to bed

Day 68/59 Weigh Day
Well the scales smiled very nicely at me this morning with a
1kg LOSS!!!!
So happy!!!!!!!
Soccer was cancelled for today so a nice quiet lazy day relaxing in my craft room.
We are out tonight at a 40th - won't be late as we have to take the kids and hopefully we are up early tomorrow for a soccer tournament for my son.
I will be preparing a yummy salad to take along with ham/cheese rolls for the kids
so I am going to be well covered with the food.

Day 69/58 Walking and Singing in the Rain.......
This morning while getting ready I checked the weather and it looked ok.
I began the walk to the train station and there were a few drops of rain but ok,
During the train journey I noticed that it was still quite dark outside but no rain drops on the window.
I then arrived at the stop for me to get off and …………… it was raining!!
So I had a nice brisk walk in a light intermittent rain fall singing along to the radio!
Fun!
Yummy egg for brekkie, an apple for morning snack, followed by a yummy tuna salad for lunch – so apart from the tuna all non processed foods for me. Then it falls down with my WW bar for afternoon snack!
The rain has continued to pour down today and at the moment there is a break in it - and I hope that it is still there in an hour when I leave to go home

Day 70/57 Its COLD COLD COLD!!!!
You guess it – it is cold today!
The walk to work was brisk and cool and when I got to work my arms were red from the chill of the air! –NICE!!!!!!!!!!
Food today was again mainly processed!
This is going to be a lot harder that I thought it would be – I really need to sit down and think long and hard about this as an option - maybe the start is trying to become more aware of the processed foods I eat and see what substitutes I could do - altho as Gae mentioned in the comments – no cheese! – eek! And really all I will be left with is my fruit, veges, eggs, meat and fish!
OH NO!!!!
Might be easier to go vegetarian??? But what about chicken??? I eat a lot of that!
On a side note – how do I add in a random photo and then have my text above and under it???
And where do people find the random photos???

DAy 71/56 Sneaky Peek Wednesday
The scales this morning at 6am showed a .500 loss so far – going in the right direction!(I am checking an hour and a half before my normal weigh in time so I am happy with it.)
Car day today – yah –I am tired this morning!
Dance class last night was great – I managed to nail a few of the spins/drops so was feeling very confident with my dancing ability and was hyped up after class so it took a while to get to sleep!
So to begin the review of processed food here is what I ate today:
Instant Porridge – opps
it was wholegrain oats and nuts – does that count???
1 cup of milk - is this an opps???
Some brown sugar – opps
1 Banana.
1 Apple
Sushi (Tuna, lettuce, rice)
Does this become an opps for the rice???
WW bar – opps
I need to find some other sweet but low point snack to replace this one that is not processed – ideas please
Can of Coke – opps!
POtatoes and peas
Chicken Sausages - Big Opps I think!
So looking at food on day one of the review my fruit and veges are just about the only non processed food I ate - eek!!!!!!!!
Oh well it is a learning curve and I need somewhere to start - right!?!

Day 72/55 Pondering Processed Foods
Kazz over on her blog mentioned on her Sunday post about processed foods and it got me thinking.
How much processed food do I eat????
Breakfast options: Egg , toast, smoothie (milk, banana, yoghurt)
Lunch options: WW tuna, salad, sushi, tinned soup, ham
Dinner Options – Varies greatly so will need to look at it over a time to assess what is processed and what isn’t.
Snacks – Well that is probably where I fall down a bit!
WW bars, WW crinkle crisps, corn thins, crackers to name a few!
Oh and the good old Diet Coke – I consume one can a working day and then at least a 600 ml bottle each day in the weekend!
So over the coming week I am going to document my foods under processed and non processed foods and see exactly what I am eating and see where I can make some changes!
Do you eat alot of processed food????

Day 73/54 Dancing Day!
Another fine day today for walking! – Cool and crisp just the way I like it!
High point day for me today – am trying to mix up the snacks a bit this week and will try something different for dinner next week – altho I do love my Roast Chicken on Honey Oat Sub from Subway!
Since I get to buy my Tuesday night dinner most weeks, other options I was considering where Chinese but then when I began pointing out the meal it was whoa – way to many points for what I wanted!
So other options could be McDonalds, Wendys both would be chicken burgers without chips altho I will point out a small portion.
Based on what I point from Subway including the cookie I can now have (thank you high point day!) I have 12.5 points to use but then I can use some of the points I normally allocate to snacks and stick to the usual apple and WW bar.
Or I could have a lower breakfast and therefore increasing the points available for dinner – oh the choices to be made!!!
Definitely need to think about this a lot more! – Sorry for the ramble!!!
Dancing tonight – yah! – Training for Champs is going well – altho I miss this weekends as my son has a soccer tournament and I have my cousins baby shower to attend – both booked before champ training started!
Oh by the Way GO THE ALL WHITES!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 74/53 Monday
Final Instalment of Seven for Me in Overcoming Frustration as inspired by Craig Harper
7. Compare Yourself to Others – with Caution. Comparing ourselves to others rarely results in something positive. It can, but typically, it won’t. Invariably, it will focus our attention on what we don’t have or what we haven’t done and lead to self-pity and/or frustration. Having said that, it can work in our favour when we make it. Comparisons can be a positive when we use the achievements of others with similar attributes, potential and opportunities (to us) as a source of motivation, inspiration, learning and perspective for our own journey
Comparing to other- yes this is something I have done in the past and it lead me to a not very nice place – self loathing and doubting!
A lesson that needs to be learnt for success, on the weight loss journey, and one that I have had to remind myself about many times.
I always remind myself that everyone is different – different lives, responsibilities, weaknesses, etc and these all need to be taken into account when looking at someone’s weight loss journey.
Overall I think this last lot of posts have helped me review my coping mechanism relating to frustration and I think I am at a good place – Long may it last.
My BFF did the Wendie plan as well last week and lost 1.7kgs – she is very happy with it as well.
We are both going to try it again this week and see how we go.
Walk in this morning was good and very refreshing – not to hot, not to cold!
Busy work day but all good – Quiet night ahead in my craft room.

Day 75/52 Going Solo.......
Instalment Six for Me in Overcoming Frustration as inspired by Craig Harper
6. Stop Relying on Others to Get You There (wherever there is). It’s great to have support, encouragement and help along the way, but it’s not great to be totally dependant on others to make our dreams a reality. While it’s healthy to be part of a team of people who are all on the same page and all moving in the same direction, it’s still important for us to be functional, productive and effective on our own. Independant and strong. Being totally reliant on someone else (to reach our goals) is an exercise in both frustration and disempowerment
This is so true - we are all going along the same path but we have to make our own decisions and accept the consequence or reward of those decisions.
I learnt this early on that it is up to me to make the right choices, it is up to me to encourage myself to excercise, if is going to be its up to me
Yes some days it is hard and I have made the wrong choices and that has spiralled into a couple of months of bad eating and no excercise - might be why I put on the 8-10 kgs after successfully loosing them for my 40th!
But you know what - I am back in the groove and I am making the most of the situation!
Good choices are being made!
Today is a bit overcast in Auckland and not alot has been planned for it - I have dance reshersals at 2-4pm but up to then I am not sure what I will do - there are a couple of soccer games I might go and watch but there there is a craft table calling my name - oh dear who will win????

Day 76/51 Patience
Instalment Five for Me in Overcoming Frustration as inspired by Craig Harper
5. Be Patient. Stop trying to reinvent yourself by next Tuesday. It took you a long time to get where you are now (practically, financially, emotionally, physically, psychologically, sociologically), so be realistic with your expectations as you work towards creating the new and improved (version of) you. I’m always amazed by people who have punished their body for decades (with atrocious eating, zero exercise and poor lifestyle habits) who then find a way to be disappointed and frustrated when they don’t look like a supermodel two weeks into their ‘weight-loss kick’.
Yes Patience is the key on this journey isn't it - as the Pantene add says it won't happen overnight but it will happen!
And this is something I need to remember!
Some days I am and others I am not which I am sure is the same for most of us on this journey but remembering one day at a time or one meal at a time and we will get there!
Thank you for your nice comments below - I was so happy and shocked with the result that it has given me a renew desire to get to goal and continue on this journey with more enthusiasm.- Long may it Last!
The morning was spend watching childrens soccer and then to my friends for the afternoon card making. It was lots of fun and with sushi for lunch even better and no snacking - it was great to be in control of my day.

Day 77/50 Finally Friday - and Aiming for Perfection???
Instalment Four for Me in Overcoming Frustration as inspired by Craig Harper
4. Stop Aiming for Perfection. Aim for better. Aim for improvement. Aim for growth. Our society’s obsession with perfection has led to unrealistic expectations, unhealthy thinking, mass frustration and disappointment. Of course frustration will be the result when our goal is unattainable. When perfection is the goal, no result will ever be good enough.
I don’t think I consciously aim for perfection – I do aim to improve on past experiences/attempts, so I think this one is all good with me!
WOW Friday is finally here and the last day of the Trial week of the Wendie plan – it is also minus 4 points day – which is all good – depending on dinner tonight – but I can control that by having a salad if I feel the dinner is going to be too high in points.
Can’t wait for tomorrow morning to see the result of my Wendie Plan Week.
TTOTM arrived this morning as well – so fingers crossed that hasn’t affected the body to much with weigh in – sometimes I can have a gain with this time but fingers crossed all good – I have not noticed the pre cycle bloat or any of the other symptoms.
Overall I have enjoyed the week and have found that with the planning of my meals on the high and low days it wasn’t that hard to achieve.
I was also a lot more conscious of my points allocation and found myself not snacking like I normally do.
Only Time will tell – Check in tomorrow for W DAY!

Day 78/49 Stop Juggling -
Instalment Three for Me in Overcoming Frustration as inspired by Craig Harper
3. Stop Juggling. Stop doing fifty things poorly and focus your time and energy on doing the important things well. That is, prioritise. I had to learn this lesson as I once had a propensity to bite off more than I could chew. Many of us simply take on more things than we can do well. Sometimes the answer is to put certain things on hold in order to be able to make progress in other areas. As a rule, over-commitment leads to exhaustion, anxiety and frustration. And, eventually, physical illness. So, what’s the best use of your time, skill and energy right now? The answer to that question is your starting point.
This is one thing I have had to learn early on and that is I need to be organised in the different aspects of my life (work, home, weight loss, craft, etc) or I get overwhelmed and nothing goes right and nothing gets done which leads me to greater levels of frustration!
The main thing for me is having “my ducks all in a row” – so I don’t have to worry about Juggling - overall I am pretty consistent with this and do notice that when I am feeling frustrated and overwhelmed it is because some thing has happened to make “my ducks start doing the conga” in one of my “life’s” – I then go and sort it, resolve the problem and all is good again in the land of Pinky!
Weight loss wise - today is minus 1 point day on the Wendie plan so I have planned out my meals accordingly – had a last minute change of lunch so that I have a nice low point salad tomorrow which is the last day and a -4 point day!

Day 79/48 Mid Week Peek and Emotional Energy
So carrying on from the Craig’s Harpers post two days ago - today I am thinking about:
2. Stop Wasting Your Emotional Energy. Control what you can and let go of what you can’t. All too often we invest our emotional energy into things (situations, circumstances, issues) over which we have little, or no, control. Not surprisingly, sending our blood pressure through the roof while screaming at a sporting event on television (for example) won’t change the outcome. Or the umpire’s stupid decisions. In fact, the only thing it might do is send us to an early grave. Oh, and possibly, annoy the crap out of everyone else within earshot.
This one is a good one for me to sort out! – I am a what if person – what if this happens – what if they do this and not that – what if they don’t like me – what if? What if? What if?
So how do I go about sorting this one out? - I know not to worry but I do – I know not to let it get to me if they don’t like (and I did nothing wrong) but I do.
This one may take me longer to sort out in my head/life but I will consciously make myself aware of it.
Sneak peek this morning saw the scales showing me a nice low number! – I must remember tho that I am sneak peeking at 1.5 hours earlier than I would weigh so can’t take it for gospel that I am having a good loss – but it does help keep me in good spirits for a few days.
Normal point day on the Wendie plan today so nothing overly changed from my normal Wednesday meals – ie sushi for lunch YUM
Oh and thanks again to Kazz who has been so helpful with my pestering questions re the wendie plan - Kazz it is greatly appreciated.
I might have one more:P

Day 80/47 Looking Within
Whilst walking home last night to the train I thought about the post from yesterday with Craig Harpers insightful words and thought I need to investigate them more in relation to me.
1. Don’t Try to Change People. Trying to change others (we’ve all done it) is an exercise in frustration and, at times, disconnection and aggravation. Giving people unwanted advice, direction or feedback (no matter how well-intended) will invariably end in tears – either literally or metaphorically. Keep in mind that unwanted input is typically interpreted as criticism
So Beginning with the first one above;
I have recently come to the realization that altho a very dear friend wants advice and guidance from me with regards to different aspects of her life – I am getting very frustrated with her not ‘altering” her ways after we have spoken.
I have realized that she needs to come to these conclusions herself and in her own time and no matter how often or long we discuss the issues she is not going to change until she is ready. So I have decided to stop giving her advice regarding the situation – I will still be there to listen and nod but I will not comment – she needs to work it out herself and implement it!
I CAN NOT CHANGE HER
WOW that feels good making that decision!
Today is my high day on the Wendie plan and it is a good food day!!!
I had my 6.5 point smoothie for breakfast
Soup and toast for lunch
Lots of Snacks for thru out the day
Subway and a cookie for dinner
Followed by Dance Class

Day 81/46 Back to Work Monday
Yup - back at work today and lots and lots of emails to deal with - phew that took most of the morning.
Afternoon was spent allocating all the payments received over the last week and then a final tidy up - I think I am just about on top again!
It is my low day of the wendie plan (I swaped the high and low days) and got some great advise from kazz regarding my high day as I wasn't sure about using the addtional 10 points on 1 items (Cookie) or spreading it out and I have decided to spread it out with larger meals and more snacks!
I got my email update while away from Craig Harper - I have mentioned him before and the one last week that I stopped and thought about more was the one on Overcoming Frustration - I have copied it in so you can have a read as well:
1. Don’t Try to Change People. Trying to change others (we’ve all done it) is an exercise in frustration and, at times, disconnection and aggravation. Giving people unwanted advice, direction or feedback (no matter how well-intended) will invariably end in tears – either literally or metaphorically. Keep in mind that unwanted input is typically interpreted as criticism.
Being totally reliant on someone else (to reach our goals) is an exercise in both frustration and disempowerment.
Comparisons can be a positive when we use the achievements of others with similar attributes, potential and opportunities (to us) as a source of motivation, inspiration, learning and perspective for our own journey.
Lots to think about there!

Day 82/45 Training Day
Well the weather in Auckland was rainy rainy rainy!
We didn't do much for most of it, altho we did venture out at 11am to watch my friend play football but decided after half an hour that it was too cold so came home instead.
I investigated more about the Wendie plan and am onto day two of it and so far so good.
Oh we did begin our dance routine practise today - and the first 2 minutes are cool!
Now for me to make sure my timing is correct!
Tomorrow is up high point day - so I need to work out where I get the addtional 10 points from - you think it would be easy but when you plan out your day on the normal points and have covered all the food groups - adding in isn't that easy - do I add it in over the meals or one large Mrs Higgins Cookie that is 10.5 points!
Decisions!
Back to work tomorrow and fingers crossed I can walk! - Weather permitting!

Day 83/44 Weigh Day
Well the week went well I think - ate well and excercised a lot - so the scales this morning said:
111.7kg
YUP a loss of 1 kg - so happy with that!
Still behind on the months challenge but I think a couple of solid weeks of walking and eating and I will be back on track - might try the Wendie plan this week - better go and find out how many I can have today!
Soccer with the kids in the morning and then not sure for this afternoon- probably around home - might visit my grandmother???
Ok have found out about the Wendi plan and it is as follows:
Day One +1 Saturday
Day Two -2 Sunday
Day Three +10 Monday
Day Four -4 Tuesday
Day Five Normal Wednesday
Day six -1 Thursday
Day Seven -4 Friday
So totay I am allowed 21 plus 1
I have added in the days of the week for me only - you would start day one on your first day of the "week"
Lets see how it goes:

Day 84/43 Completion Day
Today is the last offical day of my annual leave and I am planning on completed a few more tasks off my to do list!
The morning was spent loading up lots of items onto trade me, then I helped a friend complete some papers for his accountant.
Then it was a wonder lunch with a very dear friend - we ate well, drank well and conversed well!!!
The remainder of the day was finishing up some more trade me auctions and four sales within minutes of the items being listed!
Then a quiet night with family
A great way to finish the week.

Day 85/42 Fun Day
Well it is nearly the end of my annual leave and I have had a great week so far.
Completed most of the items in my to do list - a few I can catch up on tonight.
But today I am off to the big city of Auckland well K Road to be exact as I am going to look for some new clothes and they have some funky stores in the city.
I plan on having subway for lunch so that will keep me on track.
Will report back later with my finds!
Oh by the way - OUCH!!! my thighs are so sore from my dance lesson on Tuesday night - we worked on drops and dips and since I haven't done any for a long time the top of my thighs above my knees are not impressed with the stretching I did with them!!!
Hoping with all the extra walking today I can loosen them up a bit
Well hte day was not successful clothing purchase wise - but thats ok - I did manage to purchase some work out pants for $20.00
Purchased two baby shower gifts and check out a lot of interesting shops.
Not to worry - will try again in six months!

Day 86/41 Old Friends
Well today was a great day.
Started with walking hte kids to school so I could pay the school fees - then finding out they don't have eftpos. So walked back home and hopped in the car and went to the Money Machine and got the money out!
Back to school and then off to catch up with a friend for a cuppa.
An hour and a half later I am heading back home to take some photos of things I am selling on Trade me and then left an hour later walking up town to met up with an old school friend that I haven't seen in at least 10 years!
It was great catching up over a nice yummy lunch. We must have talked for about 2 hours which was nice and then I needed to start walking again to be home in time for the kids.
The afternoon was spent getting my daughters birthday invites made - still a little bit more to do and then they will be complete!
After dinner I did some computer work and rolled into bed at 10.30pm
A nice busy day!

Day 87/40 Change!
Today I am off to the hairdressers for a change of colour - I am going to be changing to a dirty blonde as I call it but I think the technical term is more like a grey blonde I think - Think of the pop star Pink - that colour - and maybe that sort of style! - Will add a before shot later - when I find it again
the colour isn't exactly what I was after but it looks ok - also my eyebrows are looking dark as they have just been done - give it a few days and they tone down.
Fun _ I have been a few different hair colours but never this so I thought why not!
If I don't like It I can get it dyed again!
I got up this morning and went for a 1/2 hour swim and will be walking to the hairdressers and back so lots of excercise for today.
Brekkie was 1 egg and two slices of toast.
The walk was good and I ended up being at the hairdressers from 10.00am until 1.15pm I then walked very fast to get home so I can have my lunch - yummy tuna salad - and be out again to get my lashes and brows tinted and shaped.
After that it was a quiet afternoon with the kids until 5pm when I dropped them off to trainings and I headed to my private dance lesson followed by normal dance class tonight -
PHEW!!!!
Day 88/39 Mindful Monday
Today was Queens Birthday so a nice relaxing day with the family! Hubby had a soccer game to play, so I decided that we will all go and support him - also stops the kids from sitting in front of square boxes all day as I was going to create in my craft room.
It was a fun day out - but I did not eat the best - the kids were hungry - forgot to feed them before leaving - opps!
So we stopped at a diary and got a pie and drink - eek!!
But overall not to bad a day - wraps for dinner which was nice.
And with the rest of the week being on annual leave I will be able to incorporate a lot of excercise to help counter it ( I hope!)

Day 89/38 Slothy Sunday
Well today it is wet wet wet!!!!
So whats a girl to do - well most would go and excercise?!?!?!
But no not me - I am creating in my craft room!
Which is ok as I have lots of excercise planned for next week and this afternoon I am helping my friend sort out her garage so lots of lifting and sorting to be done!
food choices this so far have been good - 1 boiled egg and 2 crumpets.
Lunch soon - altho not sure what that will be.
This is also the last free sunday before we start group practise for Champs on September 4th (which is what the countdown represents with each post)
Can't wait it will be fun!

Day 90/37 Weigh In!!!
Well the scales did not like me this morning!
112.7kg - YUP a gain of .800gms
To be expected I guess when I only excercise twice for the last week and carb loaded on two days and had pizza last night!
But today is a brand new day and I am being good - well semi good - I had a piece of left over pizza for breakfast (heated of course.
But that is all gone now so we are off to the kids soccer games and I have my water and an apple handy as we are not back until noon! and what a cold windy day it was! Brrr!!!
The remainder of the day was spent at the soccer club catching up with friends - and guess what - I did not buy any hot chips at all -which is usually my downfall there!
Dinner tonight was roast pork that hubby had organised- yum!!!
A lazy evening beside the roaring fire!!!!

Day 92/35 Holiday here I come!
Well the weather was great today so I managed to get a walk to work in!
It felt good.
Another low point day was had with:
Egg
Apple
Tuna salad with cheese
WW bar
I was quite busy today making sure all was ready for my time off next week!
I have so much planned.
I mentioned I am a list maker - well I have listed out all the days I am off starting tomorrow thru to Sunday 13th and then have listed out things I want to achieve each day and if all goes well - I will achieve a lot!
I am planning on swimming each morning since I won't have the walk to work to do - but there are also a couple of times I have planned a walk in so the excercise front is covered - now to make sure I don't nibble with the kitchen in easy access!

Day 94/33 Raining Again!
Well there is rain again here in Auckland – so no walking to work for me!.
I must admit I am missing walking and felt quite lethargic last night. I am also having to make sure that I am being careful with my points as no exercise to help counter any little hiccups.
Altho this weather does want me to increase my carb intake and my will power is just keeping it at bay! – As long as I keep warm I am ok!
Yummy soup and toast for lunch today and then more than likely my chicken subway tonight as it is off to Dance class,
Not long till my holiday either – woo hoo – better not be raining!!!!
Dance class was good last night - altho I wasn't in the mood so left early - I think this wet weather and not excercising is affecting me more than I realised!
Bring on the sunshine!!!!

Day 95/32 Monday Madness
Now walk to work for me this morning – month end means I need to bring in my car – so that I can get the company banking done for the end of month cheques and I sometimes need to work a bit later depending on my work load and what needs to be finalised for month end – altho thankfully this is starting to not be needed!
With regards to company banking I get reimbursed for using my car and I don’t mind as it gets me out of the office for half and hour or so!
I receive an email update from Craig Harper a Motivational Speaker – www.craigharper.com.au and today’s was about motivation and how to maintain it especially when we aren’t feeling it – here is an exert that I thought you might enjoy:
So, how do we stay doing even when we don’t feel like it?
Naturally there’s no one-approach-fixes-all solution to this very common challenge. However, there are some strategies which certainly increase our chances of moving from the majority to the minority.
1. Create an accountability system. An accountability system is something (anything) that will keep you doing over the long term. It could be regular assessments (to evaluate progress) or it might be a performance journal (to track behaviours, results and even emotions).
2. Use a coach (mentor, trainer, accountability partner or workout-buddy). In other words, anyone who will help you stay focused and committed even when you’re being a negative pain in the arse.
3. Harden up Princess. I know, I know… this is just Craig being Macho. Wrong. Some of the toughest, strongest, most resilient and inspirational people I’ve met and worked with have been teeny-weeny (but incredibly powerful) women. Courage has nothing to do with physical size or strength and everything to do with attitude and spirit.
4. Always be mindful of the consequences of not changing. What will your life (body, career, financial situation, relationships) look like in five or ten years if you continue to procrastinate, delay and avoid?
5. Work hard to create life-transforming habits. When something is a habit, motivation is irrelevant.
Food for thought!
